 Dear Information and Privacy coordinator,

 I request the following information from you in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act:

 - A Detailed information regarding the illegal suites built in Surrey between 2022-2023, the reasons, and the actions taken against them.

- The City of Surrey may enforce its laws against people who build or own illegal suites in its jurisdiction.

 When some portions of the documents are not available, forward those that can be released instead of withholding all documents.

For savings on photocopying, please provide me with these records in PDF format -

 A description of the request:

 The amount for maintain a house is very hard due to high tax, payments and mortgages amount, house owners build illegal suites to make extra money from tenants and breaks laws. It can be dangerous because it built without proper design and lack safety. In the year between 2022-23 the amount of tax was skyrocketed and the data I am curious about is how many individuals construct suits that are not permitted and do not follow guidelines.

 

The data aids to increase awareness between the people regarding the bad consequences individuals faced for illegal suites.

    Hi Amritpal, it's good you chose this topic, I know many people built illegal suites to rent them. students stay there, and they also pay high rent. I liked your reasons for the request, as you mentioned all the reasons that cause this.

    Its is interesting that Amritpal really thought of this type of request. I think it is may be becausehe is an international student and he has faced some problems living or someone from his known living in an illegal suit or basement.

    hi, Amrit. I like the topic of your request as it is the main issue that many individuals are facing today. Owners of illegal built suites charge a very high amount of money. It will be good to know the results of your freedom of request as it help to aware other individuals. There are some clarity issues somewhere otherwise you had done a good job.

It is a very busy area due to access to most of the malls, plazas, and bus services. The most interesting data about my Neighborhood area. 1.     1.    The neighborhood has row houses most in common. In Fleetwood area of surrey has (59.2) row houses which is above half part of the total houses constructed in the area, this shocked me because the number is very large than Vancouver CMA till 2021. The zoning of this area is mostly row houses rather than duplex apartment. Moreover, row houses can build in line which increases housing in this area, so the rent is also not much higher than Vancouver CMA.     2.     2 .   Neighborhood area have most mortgages to Finance houses. 70.3% proportion of total house buyers purchased houses on mortgages
