My name is Amritpal Singh.

 2. What are you Majoring in or planning to Major in at KPU?

I’m planning to do major in Diploma or General Arts. Also I have keen interest in horticulture so I am deciding to o masters in horticulture in future.

3. Why are you taking this course?

Honestly, my motive to take this course is high grades with 3 credits and the other reason is that my elder brother has done course this before so I got advised by him.

4. What are you hoping to learn in this course?

I’m hoping to learn about Journalism in a deeper way. Like how Journalism can create an environment where everyone has power, of sharing truth, in their hands. Moreover, I want to learn about the media, the thinking and  judgement of a journalists toward any news.

5. What is the best place you’ve ever visited? Why?

I have visited many landscapes in Canada and India but that I like most is Shannon fall. It is located on the Sea to sky highway in British Columbia, Canada. The scenery of this place attracts everyone toward their beauty and there is also ride up to the mountain where we see the view of mountains and Squamish River view. After enjoying the nature there is also a hotel in the peak of the mountain, sea food is speciality of the hotel.

 6. What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to spend time with nature and observe it. Whenever I get free time, I go to visit the natural spots alone or with my friend and spend a lot of time their, which gives relief to me to reduce stress and pressure I have related to my hectic schedule.

7. What is one thing you recommend to others and why? (eg. a TV show, a video game, a book, a podcast, a type of food)’

I recommend watching any historical show because it connects us with our roots and by this we learn about our culture and the fighters, rituals and many other things related to our ancestors. Such as the last kingdom series is on the basis of the formation of England.

  1. I love your appreciation for nature! If you're interested in identifying plant species the app iNaturalist is really cool, especially if you want to study horticulture! Your blog has good formatting but some of your text is different sizes and fonts.

  2. I like how you went into detail with every question instead of a simple one sentence answer or a few words. One thing I would suggest is adding a photo from Flickr as the assignment called for it. Perhaps as well as your photo of Shannon Falls (I believe that is what your picture is of), you could also add one published by a photographer on Flickr. Great picture of the water going down on the rocks!

  12. Hi, Amritpal nice to meet you! Well, I like the fact that you decided to take General Arts and have a tendency towards horticulture. Your brother’s advice and striving for good grades are strong arguments for why you should take this course. It sounds useful to learn about journalism and the power that provides people with truths as well as media impact. Shannon Falls is breathtaking, especially its mountain views and seafood. It is vital to unwind in nature. I appreciate your suggestion of historical shows such as The Last Kingdom – they are the best way to re-establish a connection with our ancestors.
